Some forests don't just echo with sound—they breathe in rhythm.

In the Himalayan foothills, every rustling leaf, every distant call, and every tap of the Brown-fronted Woodpecker tells a story written by the jungle itself. Among towering trees and mountain mist, birding becomes more than a hobby—it becomes a feeling that keeps calling you back.

The Himalayas will always be one of my favorite places to explore, where every trail holds the promise of an unforgettable encounter.

One of the standout moments of our West India trip

One of the standout moments of our West India trip was a fantastic sighting of the Forest Wagtail, undoubtedly one of the mega species of the tour. Always elusive and never guaranteed, this elegant bird rewarded our efforts with prolonged, close views as it moved gracefully across the forest floor, constantly wagging its long tail. Seeing it in perfect habitat and light was a deeply satisfying experience and a highlight for the entire group — a moment that truly defines why West India birding is so special. #ForestWagtail #MegaSighting #WestIndiaBirding #BirdingIndia #RareBird #Birding9Tours

With temperatures dropping, I’m seeing some species much lower than their usual range. Today I observed few flocks of Yellow-breasted Greenfinches feeding in mustard fields, a species normally found around 1,500 m elevation, now appearing as low as 500 m.
Winter movement is clearly pushing birds down from higher elevations, and some species even move further south from the Himalayan foothills. These seasonal shifts are always fascinating to witness.

🦉 Whispers of the Western Ghats 🦉

Deep in the misty forests of Wayanad, during our ongoing Western Ghats journey, the night gifted us this magical encounter with the Oriental Scops Owl — a key target species and a great success for our group.

Still. Silent. Perfectly hidden.
A tiny guardian of the forest, watching the world while the Ghats breathe under the moonlight. Moments like these remind us that patience and passion always pay off in birding.

The Western Ghats of South India are not just mountains — they are a living, breathing sanctuary of wonders, where every night holds a secret and every call tells a story.

Grateful for the wild, the long walks, and achieving special targets together in the heart of nature. Ghani Singh

A Lady of the Skies – The Female Shikra Spotted

A Lady of the Skies – The Female Shikra
Spotted in the heart of Rajasthan, this sharp-eyed beauty is the female Shikra (Accipiter badius) – a small but fearless bird of prey. Unlike her smaller male counterpart, the female is larger and more powerful, often taking on prey bigger than herself. Rajasthan is not just desert and forts – it’s also home to some of the most unique birding hotspots in India, where raptors rule the skies.

👉 Join our upcoming Birding Tour in Raptor Country and witness the magic of Rajasthan’s skies filled with hunters, falcons, and eagles.
