Ghani Singh

Ghanshyam Singh (you can call him Ghani) has been fond of wildlife since childhood.  His father is a park ranger in Ranthambhore forest where Ghani began to live with him when he was 10 years old. His father took him trekking every morning and he taught him the meaning of the movements of the animals and birds living in the forest. His father called this the language of the forest. He taught Ghani the meaning of the sounds, smells and marks of wild animals and how they react to scents and calls.  He found something new every day and he fell deeply in love with forests, birds and wild animals as a result.

Based on that knowledge and all that he has learned to date, he tracks birds, animals and their surroundings and shows them to people.  He finds that these moments are precious to him.  It gives him amazing happiness to see the awe and huge smiles on the faces of those he shares these moments with.  This gives him great joy and real satisfaction, and it makes him eager to do it every day. He is also fond of history, culture, monuments and photography; and he strongly feels the need to preserve the rare and endangered natural moments through videography and photography.

From Birdsongs to Roars – Ghani doesn’t just lead birding tours – he also craft powerful big cats & mammals safari experiences deep in India’s wilderness.
